Torquay

With sandy beaches, a bustling harbour and a host of family friendly attractions it’s no wonder Torquay has been voted one of the UK’s top seaside destinations for two years running.

Torquay is at the heart of the English Riviera and with its iconic palm trees and international marina has a distinctly Mediterranean feel. Stroll along the promenade, relax in a waterside cafe or indulge in some retail therapy. Head underground and discover the Palaeolithic history of Kents Cavern. Torquay is the backdrop for many events throughout the year including sailing events and regattas and boasts a vibrant nightlife with a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars.

Agatha Christie, the “Queen of Crime”, was born in Torquay, Devon, on September 15, 1890. She spent much of her life in Torquay and the surrounding English Riviera, and many of her works are inspired by the area’s scenery and landmarks.

Cockington

Cockington is a short drive from our park or take a lovely walk through the lanes to see this beautiful country park and historic hamlet that exudes quintessential English charm. It’s a quaint village with thatched houses and a historic manor house close to Torquay in the English Riviera.

Babbacombe

Babbacombe Bay on Devon’s English Riviera. In 1846, Queen Victoria wrote: ‘It’s a beautiful spot… red cliffs and rocks with wooded hills like Italy and reminding one of a ballet or play where nymphs appear — such rocks and grottoes, with the deepest sea on which there was no ripple.’  Over 150 years later, it still feels the same as you stand and look across the beautiful bay.

The delightful gardens at Babbacombe Downs have attained the prestigious Green Flag award, an international accolade recognising the high environmental standards, excellent visitor facilities and maintenance of the site.
